Bad Tabarz is located in the Thuringian Forest and is a climatic health resort offering rest and relaxation for spa guests and tourists. Bad Tabarz has even been certified as a Kneipp spa since 2016. With its location on the edge of the large Inselberg mountain (916m above sea level), Bad Tabarz is an attractive holiday destination all year round. In the warmer months, there are numerous hiking and cycling trails for sporting activities. In winter, Tabarz is relatively snow-sure and offers ski jumping competitions on the ski jumping hill, including the Intercontinental Ski Jumping Cup.
Economically, Bad Tabarz is characterised by tourism. Bad Tabarz has been a state-recognised Kneipp health resort since 2001. There are also a few smaller businesses. Bad Tabarz is home to two clinics: The Inselsbergklinik, a large oncological rehabilitation clinic with 248 beds, and the Klinik am Rennsteig, a rehabilitation clinic specialising in orthopaedics, cardiology and diabetology.
But the town also has plenty to offer tourists outside the spa sector. The Inselsberg Fun Park was recently opened, offering fun and adventure for young and old with its high ropes course, toboggan run and various action attractions.
We look forward to your visit.
