Welcome to Gasthof Maxen in Müglitztal-Maxen near Dresden!

For many years our inn has been a popular destination for travellers from near and far and is appreciated for its good and reasonably priced cuisine.

The mountain village of Maxen, in the centre of which the inn is located, lies 8 km south of Dresden and is framed by an impressive silhouette of mountains. To the west, the village is sheltered by the Finkenfang and Wilisch mountains; to the east, the bizarre rock formations of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains can be seen. Visitors to the mountain village do not only appreciate the restaurant. They also have the opportunity to enjoy distant views in all directions.

We offer comfortable rooms, flats and a holiday flat. All rooms and flats are equipped with shower, WC, telephone and TV (satellite). If required, they can be equipped with extra beds.

In our beer garden you can enjoy the food and specialities of the inn in a cosy atmosphere. Our menu offers 10 regular dishes as well as seasonal and vegetarian dishes and specialities. All dishes are freshly prepared in our modern kitchen and can also be served as children's and senior citizens' dishes.

And not only in good weather, for example in summer, you can start from our inn in Maxen for a tour to Saxon Switzerland, with the castles Königsstein, Stolpen or to the bastion Rathen. Also in winter and snow, our guesthouse Maxen is ideally situated at the foot of well-known skiing areas of the Eastern Ore Mountains of Zinnwald and Altenberg.

Use the Gasthof Maxen as a starting point for your individual discoveries or as a rest and recreation point during one of your tours. We can offer you comfortable rooms, a cosy beer garden and delicious food.
