You will receive a warm welcome all year round from Dominique and André MANDINE at the Lou Jas in Soleilhas, in the department of 04 in the Alpes de Haute-Provence, in the South of France. The Lou Jas is a wonderfully authentic auberge where the locals come for a coffee in the morning and nothing is ever too much trouble.

The Lou Jas is situated in a quiet street in Soleilhas with a children’s play area, boules pitch and parking 30m away. It is a small family run hotel with five rooms all of which have their own shower and TV and there is also an apartment for rent.

The restaurant has a wonderful homely feel to it and is extremely popular with the locals. The food is all traditional local cuisine. Why not start with an aperitif of kir or home made orange wine whist you mull over the different menus. The hors d’oeuvre is a help yourself salad bar. The menus have lots of choice, home made foie gras, different stews from pork to wild boar served with home made gnocchis or ravioli. Lots of local specialities are to be found on the menu, prawns, stuffed vegetables (les farcis niçois), deep fried courgette flowers (les beignets de fleurs de courgette). The bread is, of course, all home made too.
