This hotel has its own personality and sets high standards for itself. It is protected as a historical monument, and at the same time equipped to modern standards so that it corresponds perfectly to the demands of new guests and regular visitors.

The Hotel Gasthof Stift offers its guests a choice of 35 rooms on 2 floors. All the rooms are non-smoking and equipped with shower, toilet, satellite-TV, telephone and hairdryer.

In order to maintain the personality and charm of this historical house, all the rooms have been fitted out in oak and conceived so that they remain true to the architectural style of the region.

Our recipe for a successful meal: freshness, regional products and versatility…When it comes to food and drink, you have the choice: the Alte Wache (the ´Old Watch-house´), the café, the rotisserie, the terrace and the beer-garden are all part of the restaurant.

Our kitchen is well-known for its traditional Bavarian regional dishes, which we prepare with love and care. All our foodstuffs come from suppliers and producers of the region. It’s the only way can we guarantee the freshness and cleanliness of the food and ingredients used. The ‘dish of the day’ changes regularly and according to the season and harvest. Here you can taste fresh asparagus for example, or chanterelles, or even fresh local game in autumn.

The terrace of the Hotel Gasthof Stift offers room for 70 people and invites them to coffee and cake from our own patisserie, or a refreshing Weinschorle (a very refreshing drink made with wine and sparkling mineral water).

The terrace is beautifully situated: in the middle of the pedestrian precinct and not far from the municipal museum, with a direct view over the Neptune fountain. This is where the weekly market is held. Here, you feel as though you were on a piazza in Italy and find yourself immediately in a holiday atmosphere.

No-where in Germany can you be further south as to the geographical and climatic aspects and the holyday atmosphere. And no-where will you be better received. Lindau is one of the most beautiful towns on Lake of Constance, a real jewel to all those who pass through. Each season has its attractions; guests can relax, go out and discover the natural environment or indulge in one of the many activities here.
