Welcome to the Hotel zur Post in Nordhalben in the Franconian Forest Nature Park, a family-run hotel in charming Franconian surroundings.

The house was built around 1856 on one of the most important trade routes between Nuremberg and Leipzig. In former times it was a post office and horse changing station. The Ströhlein family acquired the house in 1952 and has steadily expanded it for the benefit of their guests.

You will enjoy the relaxing comfort of our rooms with TV, shower/WC and free WLAN. A special amenity are the many free parking spaces in the immediate vicinity.

The Hotel Post, traditionally called Grazer by the locals, has three guest rooms: the Kutscherstube, Poststube and Wirtsstube. The chef of the house always succeeds in inspiring guests with new creations from all over the world. At the same time, he also cultivates the specialities of regional cuisine. Our kitchen is guided by the seasonal calendar and uses mainly regional products. You can enjoy Franconian and international cuisine there. Our restaurant offers you the right setting for every occasion.
Whether with up to 50 friends at a festive table in the Kutscherstube or in a small circle in the Poststube, you will feel completely at home in our house!

Situated in the middle of the Frankenwald Nature Park, you will find a wide range of nature and activity experiences with us: The Höllental, the Rennsteig, mountain biking, Nordic walking, roller skating, downhill and cross-country skiing and much more. We offer a convenient luggage transfer service for cycling and hiking enthusiasts.
Nordhalben has an attractive natural outdoor swimming pool with a sunbathing lawn, which our guests enjoy using. The Rennsteig or the Bavarian State Spa Bad Steben with thermal baths and casino are only a few kilometres away from Nordhalben.
