The country residence, surrounded by an agricultural ground of 12000 square metres, has become such in the 40s right after Second World War. It was constituted by a dwelling part born from the 16th century building of the old Magliano Alfieri mill, and also by the adjoining rustic cellar, cowshed, straw storage and wide shed used to store the work tools. Situated in the town of Magliano Alfieri - Cornale hamlet- , the house is reachable on the SS 231 Asti-Alba that flanks the river Tanaro on its left side, here the river flows into a large and fertile valley between the hills of Langhe and Roero: kitchen gardens and orchards grow blooming here together with cereals' plantations, at the same time a pattern of wooded spots and mixed cultivations (vineyards, orchards and walnut woods) give a characteristic touch to the hills.

Considering the great location ( we are only 8km away from Alba) and considering the rising of tourism promoted by the recovered wine and well eating culture, the owners have tried to change the old cowshed and overhanging straw storage into a family oasis, crossroads for the most different cultures, where feeling at home is a must.

Considering the importance of the building both for the local historical memories it carries (reference to it is to be found on a 17th century map as "old mill" of Cornale) and for being an example of local architecture of the past, the main purpose of the refurbishing project was to recover the building through the introduction of compatible elements in order not to change the original architecture but to keep the characteristic structure and constitutive elements.
