Welcome to the HIP Hotel Heidelberg.

The American poet and philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson once said: "Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm".

We emphatically agree with Mr Emerson. It was indeed the enthusiasm for something extraordinary which propelled us around half the globe, in order to create a unique hotel ambience for Heidelberg visitors.

Within the historic building of the 'Zum Güldenen Schaf', which is more than 250 years old, we have realised a singular idea. Each of our 27 rooms is named and inspired by a world famous city and has been furnished and decorated authentically.

Travels from Marrakesh to New York were the sources of original pieces of furniture and fittings. Nowhere else have Paris and Tokyo been so close to each other.

During a stay in our hip-hotel, you can experience a piece of Fifth Avenue, Place Vendôme or Jammaa Lafna in the middle of Heidelberg.

All hotel rooms are furnished to the highest standards and offer every comfort: 24hr room service, flat screen-TV, Internet access, wireless-LAN, Surf Point, hair dryer, room safe, lift.

When choosing a hotel, location is paramount. The hip-hotel is positioned in the historic center of Heidelberg on the popular Hauptstrasse which is now a pedestrian zone. It goes without saying that hotel guests can drive up to the hotel entrance in their own car, and parking is available very close by.

Within a few minutes walk, you will find the world famous Heidelberg Castle, the Old Bridge, the Palatinate Museum, the University with its Studentenkarzer (the student prison), the shopping mile and other places of interest. As a guest, you reside in the midst of it, yet you will be able to enjoy a peaceful calm at night, because the hotel rooms face away from the bustle on the Hauptstrasse.

We have established a link to the traditional restaurant 'Zum Güldenen Schaf' where breakfast is also served. In this first hip-hotel of the region, time-honored tradition and modern innovation have entered a successful symbiosis.

The picturesque banqueting rooms and halls such as the Manesse-Saal and the historic vaulted cellars offer space for conferences in a unique setting. In our historic restaurant we would like to spoil you with superior regional and seasonal cuisine, competent and friendly service, and of course, a regional and international wine list.
