Years ago, pumice-stone miners found caves on the island of Santorini, Archaeologists identified the caves as ancient housings and antique lodgings. Later on, a local craftsman manufactured pack-saddles and held his cattle there. These caves, carved into the rocks of the volcano island of Santorini, are the base of the „Aris Caves” established in 1993. Literally, like an eagles nest, hanging in the cliff of the island, facing the Kaldera, the „Aris Caves” complex are located only a few minutes away from the downtown of Oia, the lovely village. Yet the placing of houses is configured like an amphitheatre, so it’s still a quiet ambience and ideal to relax, to dream and to enjoy the breath taking view over the Kaldera, the volcano and the deep blue Aegean sea.
