Welcome to the Kapplerbräu brewery inn and hotel in Altomünster!

The Kapplerbräu is located above the historic market square in idyllic Altomünster in Upper Bavaria. The brewery inn with its beautiful baroque façade has been the centrepiece of our family business since 1561 and has been a hostel and catering establishment for local writer Ludwig Thoma, among others. In our Ludwig Thoma Room, named after him, with its light-coloured maple tables and fine wood panelling, the dining experience is just as rustic today as it was back then.

In the cosy pub, rustic wooden tables and modern accents create a stylish and comfortable atmosphere. When the weather is fine, our beer garden in the romantic inner courtyard invites you to linger and relax. Let us spoil you with our culinary delights from the Bavarian-Swabian cuisine or try one of our changing specialities from our experienced kitchen team. To quench your thirst, we recommend our award-winning beers from our own brewery.

The traditional, family-run hotel in the quiet town of Altomünster in Bavaria offers cosily furnished rooms, a breakfast buffet and a charming brewery. Our 17 individually designed rooms are located on the first floor. This is where people used to dance and party, but also where barley and malt for beer production were stored. Today, this floor is home to a very special treasure. Our new hotel rooms. Embedded in fine fabrics and the finest woods. Choose, for example, between the Ludwig-Thoma or the wedding room. True to our preference for tastefully combining old and new, you will find rustic wooden beams and fine fabrics paired with contemporary furnishing elements and modern amenities such as a flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi.

The Hotel Kapplerbräu offers you a cosy start to the day with its delicious breakfast buffet. In the evening, the hotel restaurant serves delicious regional cuisine and a selection of drinks.

The Kapplerbräu hall in Altomünster was built in 1911 by Johann Stanglmaier and is a monument to Art Nouveau. With room for up to 200 people, it also offers space for large events.

Our marvellous beer garden is an idyll in itself. It is located away from the street in the four-sided enclosed inner courtyard. Listen to the splashing of the fountain or enjoy the sunset in the leaves of the maple trees.
