Welcome to the Hotel Wintersmühle in Bielefeld!

The Wintersmühle is an old watermill on the southern outskirts of Bielefeld (Sennestadt), which was first mentioned in documents in 1530 and converted into a hotel 30 years ago. As the Bullerbach stream did not have much water and also had to supply other mills, such as the sawmill a little further upstream, the milling rights were allocated according to the days of the week, and the miller here was the Freytagsmüller (Friday miller). This is where the family name Freitag comes from.

All hotel rooms are equipped with shower/WC, satellite TV, minibar and telephone (direct dial). Wi-Fi is available free of charge in all areas of the hotel. Now unique to us: rooms with AirExclusiv lying comfort! In collaboration with SCHLAFKULTUR, Bielefeld, we have now equipped four rooms with beds featuring the tried-and-tested AirExclusiv mattress. It can be easily adjusted to a harder or softer setting using a remote control. Everyone is different; body weight, height and sleeping habits vary greatly. Whether slim, curvy, tall or short, back, stomach or side sleeper – with this mattress, everyone can decide for themselves whether they prefer a softer or firmer sleeping surface. And it's as easy as pressing a button. The response from our guests has been fantastic. Everyone is delighted and reports a good and restful night's sleep.

In the morning, we offer a rich breakfast buffet, and on weekdays, our kitchen is open for you in the evening from 6 p.m. Our menu includes Westphalian specialities, juicy steaks and other delicacies, depending on the season. Our daily changing dish of the day rounds off our evening service as an additional offer, and very often the suggestions come from our regular guests. But we also offer relaxation in our Finnish sauna, bicycles for tours in the surrounding area (Teutoburg Forest), a heated terrace for the summer season, a lawn for sunbathing and much more.

Just 4 kilometres from the Hotel Wintersmühle, we offer attractive one-room apartments, complete with fully equipped kitchen, bed linen, towels and weekly cleaning.

Easily accessible and idyllically located on the outskirts of Bielefeld

The B68, A2 and A33 motorways and Bielefeld are only a few kilometres away. Regional and international airports are within easy reach. A train station for trains to Bielefeld HBF and Paderborn is just around the corner (5 minutes on foot)!

The reception is open until 9 p.m. in the evening, and later arrivals are possible by arrangement. Treat yourself to some rest and relaxation after a busy day – we are open all year round.
