It is famous for its terraced vineyards and the uniquely mild climate. The small sleepy town of Burkheim is situated at the foot of the formerly magnificent Schwendi castle. Its medieval town centre, the twisting alleyways and the lovingly restored half-timbered houses attract visitors from near and far. Kreuz-Post Inn and Hotel is surrounded by vineyards and idyllic orchards. It was built in 1809 on top of the foundation walls of the chapel of the “Holy Cross” and has been owned by the family since then. Here, we still take the proverb literally that the guest is king.
