Welcome to Herdade da Sanguinheira! We would like to show you our Portugal: the manifold beauty of the Alto Alentejo countryside, the heartland of Portugal, our country house, completely restored as a holiday estate, and last but not least our beautiful horses, classically trained thoroughbred Portuguese Lusitanos. In the heart of the country, at the foot of a gorgeous mountain range, lies the country estate "Herdade da Sanguinheira" of our German-Portuguese family. Come for a visit and get to know the yet undiscovered plains and the regional diversity of northern Alentejo. Combine experiencing a magnificent landscape on thoroughbred Lusitanos with the option to improve your riding skills by dressage instruction and to get introduced to the art of classical Portuguese riding. To the non-riders among you, our region offers a wide range of activities such as walking, swimming, sailing and water-skiing; fishing and hunting are also possible. To get an insight to Portuguese culture and history, we suggest you take trips to historically important towns and cities such as Evora (UNESCO world cultural heritage). During your stay with us, far away from mass tourism, get to know Portugal at its most authentic!
