The Quinta da Cumieira: Localized over one of the most beautiful summits of the mediaeval village of Cumieira. It offers you a calm atmosphere, adequated to those who search the deserved pause of the daily stress. It is placed approximately at 8 km from Vila Real, 18 Km from Peso da Régua and the Douro river, and at 110 km from Oporto. Historic: In the XVIth century, The "Quinta da Cumieira" was property of the Saint Gonçalo of Amarante Convent. In 1674, it was offered as a gift to the Capitain Diogo Pereira de Aguiar and, in 1752 it was acquired by the eldest son of the "Casa de Mateus". The distinct architect and painter Nicolao Nazzoni was lodged here when he painted the inside walls of Cumieira's Church. Marco Aurélio Nogueira Peixoto and Maria Isabel Sousa Rebelo Figueiredo Peixoto are the actual owners.
