Casa de Casal de Loivos is located on the top of a hill, overlooking the Douro river, 7 Km from Pinhão, 15 Km from Alijó and about 40 Km from Vila Real and Peso da Régua. Casa de Casal has been built in 1658 and belongs, since 1733, to the Pereira de Sampayo family, at present represented by the actual owner. With a truly privileged situation it has one of the most dazzling sceneries all over Portugal and can be considered as the best view over the Douro Valley. After 30 years of abandonment, Casa de Casal de Loivos started being totally restored in 1989, and 30 months after, this huge job was finally accomplished. On this recuperation, done with enormous scruple, the preservation

of the original draft has been a permanent worry as well as endowing the House with all the modern comfort. The rooms of Casa de Casal de Loivos (all heated) are ornamented with simplicity and good taste, making our guests feel at home even with a totally Douro's atmosphere.
