Saint-Paul d'Espis
Hotel
The Manoir St Jean lies in calm and peaceful countryside, surrounded by orchards and vineyards. It is part of the old province of Quercy, the southern Quercy Blanc which straddles the Lot and the Tarn-et-Garonne. It’s a region noted for its mild climate and the beauty of its white stone buildings and rose-pink roofs
The Manoir St Jean is a three-star hotel-restaurant brought to life in the magnificent setting of a grand 19th century neo-classical villa sheltered in extensive wooded and landscaped grounds.
The hotel, air-conditioned throughout, has 9 suites of 35 square metres and one room measuring 17 square metres, excluding size of bathrooms, all offering great comfort. Each en-suite bathroom comprises bath and shower, separate wc, hair-dryer and bathrobe. Satellite TV. One suite is adapted for use by handicapped guests.
The discovery of a gastronomy based on products of the finest quality is one of the great attractions of the Manoir St Jean. Her love of good things is something Anne-Marie Morgades, the proprietor, is keen to share.
The chef bases his creations around his daily trips to market, favouring local products and fresh fish - wild, never farmed. Seasonal products take pride of place. This area is not short of local specialities, each more delicious than the last: free-range poultry; Quercy lamb; Chasselas grapes from Moissac; Quercy melons; truffles from Lalbenque; Cabecou goat cheese, fresh fruit and vegetables from local growers. Special mention must be made of the wine list with its emphasis on “natural” wines, biodynamically grown and produced free from sulphites.
Hundred-year-old trees, a traditional French-style garden and a romantic gazebo at the back of the house.
A 12m x 7.50m heated swimming pool entices in high season.
