The Hotel Gasthaus Zum Engel is a long-established, family-run hotel and restaurant in the Alpersbach district of the municipality of Hinterzarten in the Upper Black Forest. Situated at an altitude of around 1,030 metres, the hotel combines over 180 years of hospitality with the unique natural beauty of the Black Forest.
The origins of the estate date back to the year 1446, when the historic Kaspelhof was first mentioned in a document. The inn has been in operation here since 1837, and today the hotel is run with great passion by the Steiert family, now in its several generations.
