Welcome to the Hotel Zum Schwarzen Ross in Hilpoltstein!

On the market square of Hilpoltstein we offer you beautiful, cosy, rustic and modern rooms behind historic walls, at fair prices. Our hotel's long history lends it a special atmosphere. Your physical well-being is well catered for with fine beers and freshly prepared meals!

We have 23 rooms. In addition to our 7 single rooms, we can also offer you 6 double rooms, 8 triple rooms, a family room and a suite. And if required, we can of course also equip your room with an additional baby cot.

Hospitality with tradition

In our "Gutmann Zur Post", in addition to our parlour, there are other rooms available for family celebrations, events and conferences for between 10 and 80 people.

We cook for you down-to-earth Franconian cuisine with fresh ingredients. It goes without saying that the ingredients are sourced locally wherever possible. Eggs and potatoes directly from the farmer, salad and vegetables from the Auhof market garden, game only fresh from the hunter and fresh herbs from our own garden and much more .....

Hilpoltstein, the castle town on Lake Rothsee, looks back on over 1,000 years of history that can still be experienced today. The town is characterised by its proximity to the romantic Altmühltal valley and the New Franconian Lake District with its many family-friendly recreational opportunities. Another attraction is the Franconian metropolis of Nuremberg with its historic city centre and diverse cultural offerings.

We offer our cyclist guests a lockable bicycle shed, so storing up to 25 bicycles is no problem. Cycling information, maps, tools and three specialised workshops in the city. Free battery charging too, of course.
