Welcome to the Hotel ‘Alte Post’ in Wangen im Allgäu!

Our cosy hotel with its family atmosphere is centrally yet quietly located in the pedestrian zone of the medieval town centre of Wangen. The beautiful Allgäu invites you to a variety of leisure activities.

Our house is a gem in the Württemberg Allgäu in the foothills of the Alps. The Alte Post was built in 1409. At that time it served as the town's stables. In the famous stagecoach era, people changed horses at this Thurn- und Taxis post office - they stopped for a break. Free parking is available directly in front of the hotel, making it easy to arrive and depart.

The natural building fabric (clay, stone, wood) guarantees an excellent living atmosphere.

The rooms are stylishly and cosily furnished, all with bath/shower, WC, direct dial telephone, radio, TV and laptop connection and W-Lan (free of charge). You can choose between the room styles ‘Romantic’, ‘Allgäu’ and ‘Business’. Our double rooms are 30 m² in size and the single rooms are 18 m². If you need a little more space, you can feel at home in the ‘Allgäu Suite’. We serve fresh bread rolls and home-baked bread for breakfast. Our cocktails are real creations (apricots with rosemary or blackcurrants with lemon and peppermint).

On our roof terrace above the rooftops of Wangen, you can enjoy the peace and quiet and the beautiful view as far as the mountains. A small drinks and food menu is available for you. We are happy to fulfil your wishes.

You can help yourself free of charge at our small tea bar. An overnight fridge is also available. Festive rooms for banquets, meetings, conferences, family celebrations for up to 60 people, a reading room, TV room and garages are available.

Our well-known restaurant offers specialities of regional and new cuisine.
