Welcome to the conference and adventure hotel ZUM KLOSTER with 6-lane bowling alley (with moonlight) in the heart of the Thuringian Forest.

Surrounded by the historic atmosphere of the former Benedictine monastery, the Hotel Zum Kloster in Rohr offers stylish and individually furnished rooms. The generously designed rooms of the hotel offer a view over meadows in a variety of green colours. In both houses we have a total of 68 beds (32 rooms), divided into single, double and multi-bed rooms. All rooms are equipped with shower/WC, direct dial telephone and colour TV. Unfortunately, pets are not allowed.

In the morning we offer a rich breakfast and in the restaurant with beer garden we spoil our guests with culinary delicacies. Our restaurant offers you Thuringian delicacies daily from 11.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m., just as they were once cooked in grandmother's time. Enjoy them in our beer garden with the last rays of sunshine or in our restaurant with cosy retreats in the form of rustic brick grottos.

Up to 80 people can have fun, play and relax on six lanes. The bowling bar caters for your physical well-being. Every day from 10.00 pm we organise moonlight bowling, which is unique in the region. You can only bowl on our high-quality lane surfaces with bowling shoes, which we are happy to provide. For regular bowlers we offer fashionable shoes for sale.

In the ‘Kloster’ there are a few motorbike enthusiasts who like to take their guests on guided tours to show them the beautiful sides of the Thuringian countryside. The motorbike traveller is led through Suhl in formation, guided through colourful traffic lights and the interactive slalom course with self-moving obstacles in the form of four-wheeled motor vehicles is considered particularly attractive.

The highlight of the excursion is a visit to the local mountain. At the foot of the mountain, we have had a roundabout specially installed so that there is no need for tiresome turning. Rohr is the ideal starting point for motorbike tours in the Thuringian Forest or the Rhön. The routes are ideal for beginners, advanced riders, sporty and ambitious riders and also for quiet riders.

Female bikers are of course always welcome at the monastery. On request, we offer guided tours in the surrounding area, or give tips for a charming excursion with or without a motorbike...

Free garage parking is available for motorbikes.

We are also happy to organise transfers for your guests for parties and other events.
