Welcome to the Landhotel Gernert in St. Martin

The Landhotel Gernert in the middle of the Palatinate, between vineyards and hiking trails, stands out with a southern flair, comfort, cosiness and individuality.

As soon as you have passed our reception, your holiday in the recognised wine and climatic health resort of St. Martin begins. The rooms radiate a sense of security and offer the right ambience for rest and relaxation. All rooms are equipped with WC/shower or bath, hairdryer, safe, telephone, radio/TV and minibar with extra red wine storage. Most rooms have a balcony or terrace. A sunbathing lawn is located on our sunny plateau and parking is directly at the house.

After breakfast you can start your sunny day in the middle of the vineyards. Whether you go hiking or sightseeing, with us you can experience nature up close. Back from your excursion, you can have a little wine tasting in our wine tasting room or pour yourself a glass of wine in your room, sit back and relax.

The Barrique Vault - Restaurant Gernert
Let our chef Dietmar Puscha spoil you with culinary delights. Fresh products from the region, which are prepared with great craftsmanship and attention to detail. The dishes are accompanied by selected wines from the Thomas Gernert winery. Our cordial service team, led by Sabrina Zilles, would like to offer you enjoyable and relaxed hours in the atmospheric vaulted cellar atmosphere. As part of the manor house of the Gernert wine estate built in the 18th century, the cellar was constructed from stones from the Kropsburg as a barrique vault. As the name suggests, the winery's finest wines were traditionally stored here in special oak barrels. The special thing about this is that the barrels are only used a few times, or even only once or twice, depending on the variety. During storage, the wine loses tannic acid and takes on the typical aromas of the oak barrel surrounding it, which are so highly valued by connoisseurs.

The winery was built in 1851 from the ruins of Kropsburg Castle and bought by Angela Gernert's father in 1934. In 1958 Norbert Gernert took over the winery and changed the interpretation of the winery from cask wine to bottled wine and direct marketing. In the meantime, Thomas Gernert is the winemaker of the Gernert winery and uses the long winemaking tradition to try out exciting creations and experiments. With an unrelenting drive and passion, he offers a clearly structured range for each of his customers. From country wine for everyday enjoyment to selection wine in barriques, top quality wine is consistently produced here and marketed by himself.
