The Hotel & Gasthaus Backmulde is a traditional, family-run hotel in the heart of Heidelberg’s Old Town. The listed building looks back on centuries of history and combines a historic ambience with modern comforts. As early as the 17th century, there was a boatmen’s inn on this site; later, the building housed, amongst other things, a brewery, a mechanical workshop and, from 1926, the Heidelberg Bakers’ Guild. Today, the hotel offers 27 individually furnished rooms, a renowned restaurant serving regional and seasonal cuisine, and a quiet location in a side street – just a few minutes’ walk from the main attractions.
